Job Title: Kindergarten Paraprofessional

Job Summary:
The Kindergarten Paraprofessional will assist the lead teacher in providing a supportive, engaging, and safe learning environment for young children. This role involves working directly with students, helping them with academic tasks, and supporting classroom management. The paraprofessional will also assist in reinforcing lessons, helping with classroom activities, and promoting positive social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the teacher with daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Provide individualized or small group support for students who need extra help.
• Help with classroom management, ensuring a positive and safe environment for all students.
• Assist in preparing materials and organizing classroom resources.
• Support children in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behavior.
• Help with lunchtime, recess, and transitions between activities.
• Follow teacher’s instructions and assist with any other tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Paraprofessional Certification required.
• Associate's degree or college coursework in education or a related field is a plus.
• Experience working with young children is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Patience, compassion, and a strong desire to help children succeed.

Work Environment:
This position typically works in a classroom setting within a school. It may involve some physical activity, including sitting on the floor, helping children with mobility, and assisting in the physical setup of classroom activities.
