Description: As an Academic Interventionist, you will be responsible for supporting student achievement with special attention to Tier II and III instruction. The Academic Interventionist provides individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, communicating student progress and performance, and collaborating with other teachers, MTSS Coordinators, administrators, and other staff. The ability to clearly and effectively communicate with parents regarding student progress is also expected.This is a Title I-funded position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide high quality instruction to individual students and small groups
Use data to plan and provide instruction to students and to bring their skills to grade-level
Use identified research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student needs
Maintain accurate data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress
Provide data to MTSS Coordinator and administrators and participate in decisions about student progress
Assist with appropriately grouping students for interventions
Participate in meetings with teachers, administrators, and families to discuss student progress
Administer diagnostic assessments for students as needed
Participate in relevant trainings to improve knowledge and skills
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification/license (P-5)
K-4 teaching experience working with diverse student populations and implementing intervention strategies
Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices
Proficiency in using data to inform instruction
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families
Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to adjust instruction based on student needs
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced educational environment
Flexibility in scheduling
Organization with maintaining records related to progress monitoring and referrals
