CHS Academic and Guidance Advisor: Part Time
Job Summary:
This role ensures that all students are on track to meet graduation requirements by maintaining accurate records, conducting transcript audits, and guiding students through personalized academic planning. The advisor will work closely with students, parents, counselors, and administrative staff to provide support, interventions, and recommendations that promote student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, monitor, and update Individual Graduation Plans (IGPs) for all high school students.
Conduct comprehensive transcript audits to ensure students meet state and district graduation requirements.
Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and administrators to support student academic planning and course selection
Meet with students and parents to discuss academic progress, graduation status, and course options.
Identify students at risk of not graduating on time and recommend interventions or academic support.
Maintain accurate records and reports related to student academic progress and graduation readiness.
Stay current with state and district policies regarding graduation requirements, credit recovery, and course sequencing.
Participate in professional development related to academic planning, data analysis, and student support strategies.
Support students through programs such as Legacy Youth Mentoring, Bags of Love, etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s preferred.
Knowledge of state and district graduation requirements and high school academic policies.
Experience with student data management systems and transcript auditing.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school staff.
Reports To: Principal and/or Assistant Principal
Work Environment: High school setting; may require occasional evening or parent meeting attendance.
