JOB DESCRIPTION: English Grades 9-12 Combination

Commerce City Schools is seeking a qualified, dynamic, and passionate English Language Arts teacher
at Commerce High School for the 2026-2027 school year. Coaching opportunities may be available.
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid, clear renewable Georgia teaching certificate in appropriate subject content
areas required; teaching experience at the high school level preferred.
REPORTS TO: Building level administration
SALARY: Based on state and local schedules; 10-month contract. Salary and work year to be determined
by the Commerce City Schools Board of Education.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Use data, technology, and a wide variety of instructional strategies to plan and implement
differentiated instruction for all students.
2. Teach using Marzano’s effective instructional strategies to ensure learning by all students.
3. Use a wide variety of formative and summative assessments to aid in the development of lesson plans
and teaching strategies.
4. Understand the importance of using assessments to guide remediation practices to meet the needs of
all students.
5. As a professional educator, continually seek ways to develop and learn to enhance your practice
during the school year and, as needed, during the summer.
