QUALIFICATIONS
Valid, clear, renewable Georgia Special Education teaching certificate for K-4 required.
Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) preferred.
Familiarity with GoIEP and progress monitoring is preferred.
JOB SUMMARY
The ASD Resource Teacher manages a caseload of students in the ASD classroom, delivering social skills instruction and academic content to ensure students receive the specially designed instruction (SDI) necessary to access the general education curriculum. Students may participate in the ASD classroom full-time or join in small group segments as determined by individual needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct instruction and support to students with ASD, including social skills and academic content.
Deliver specially designed instruction (SDI) to help students access the general education curriculum.
Maintain and monitor a caseload of students, updating progress in GoIEP and reporting to parents/guardians as required.
Collaborate with general education teachers, Related Service Providers and support staff to support co-teaching and inclusive practices.
Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals.
Provide a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
Participate in professional development and apply best practices in ASD instruction.
Other duties as assigned.
